Project: Car and Driver iPad edition, 2010 - 2012

Designed and produced twenty-four issues for iPad from top to bottom. The entire print issue needed to be completely redesigned to function for the iPad's interactive platform.
The print edition had three or more designers working on its layout and production. The iPad edition was the sole responsibility of Matthew J. Richards. More content needed to fit into less space. Photography, video, complex information graphics and charts, audio, embedded media from external sources, animations and copy needed to fit and needed to look good in both vertical and horizontal orientations. 
The following examples sometimes show both orientations and depict 'closed' and 'open' states for interactive elements.
